Sandes is a messaging app that allows you to send and receive messages instantly.
Sandes is an open source native indian instant messaging application. It is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (NIC), Government of India, to enable government organisations communicate more effectively. It is only maintained at government-owned infrastructure. It is available in android version to download on playstore.End-to-end encrypted messaging, encrypted backup, and encrypted OTP services are all supported.
Sandes can be connected with other government communication systems to transmit free encrypted messages.Sandes is currently linked to NIC email, DigiLocker, and e-office.
Sandes app's full functionality are currently only available to users who have been confirmed by the government.Its security and privacy policies are supervised by Indian government norms and regulations.

app was created by National Informatics Center to promote the 'Vocal for Local' alternative to Whatsapp. Sandes has more new features than WhatsApp.
Almost all of the features of WhatsApp are present in the Sandes app. They also have some new features such as auto delete message,help and more.
The following are new features
User may link aadhar to profile.
In this
app, enter the aadhar number then a otp is send to the mobile number which is registered.After entering the otp we can see on the top it shows whether the aadhar is linked to profile or not.
Messages Tag
Any message can be marked before it is sent as an option. Tags include Auto deletion, Confidential, and Priority, among others. From the tag area, you can choose any of the tags.
Messages with the Auto Delete tag are automatically erased from the chat window once the receiver has read them. Confidential and Priority tags can also be applied to messages.
Gimoji
Gimojis are small graphics or stickers that can be used in authorized chat conversations. Tap on a sticker in the 'GIMOJI' tab to send.
Upload PDF documents.
Users can upload PDF documents shared in Sandes to their own DigiLocker accounts using the Sandes application.
Select the PDF file in the chat window and click upload; the file will be redirected to digilocker.
Log in to Digilocker with your credentials or by inputting the user's Aadhaar/Mobile number.
Link preview before share
Link preview is a feature that allows the user to preview the brief details of the web hyperlink shared. The same preview is shown in the chat conversation.
