Article 370 of the Indian Constitution given special status to jammu and Kashmir.

when India and Pakistan was divided, the king of Jammu Kashmir Hari singh wanted to be independent from India. But later on he accepted.

Jammu Kashmir has given special status by the Indian government under article 370.

Article 370 is prepared by Gopal Swami Iyengar. Due to article 370 the constitution of India does not applicable to Jammu and Kashmir. According to the article 370, and Kashmir approval is mandatory for the enforcement of laws accepted defence, Foreign Affairs ,finance and Communications.

The urban land act of 1976 does not applicable to Jammu and Kashmir. Indian citizens how no right to buy land in jammu and Kashmir.

Central Government have  right to impose emergency only in the time of War and foreign aggression. If internal conflicts arise in the Jammu and Kashmir then Central government has to impose emergency with the permission of the jammu and Kashmir state government. Jammu and Kashmir state people has dual citizenship. It has separate constitution and Penal Code.

Article 370 repealed

BJP was serious on the Article 370. They wanted to repeal the article 370. 

In December 2015, petition filed against the article 370 in the supreme court.August 5th 2019 the Indian Constitution has repealed article 370. The president Ramnath kovind gazette notification for repealing of article 370.

Jammu Kashmir has divided into two States one is Jammu Kashmir and the other is Ladakh as a union territories. Jammu Kashmir as a union territory like Delhi with a Legislative Assembly. Ladakh as a non assembly territory.
